Century beetle
This one I've grown more fond of over the years! Original note:
"Hup hup hup, gotta deliver this tree here, hup
I was initially going to make a group of characters ride the beetle, but somehow those ended up not being there, instead replaced by a tree. I'm not very confident of my ability to a) draw spruces and b) create a sense of distance, but I think both work pretty well in this piece(?) I was initially hesitant to add the darker shadows dropped by the beetle, because with watercolours there's the constant danger of ruining the whole thing completely, but in the end I added some (with my girlfriend's encouragement <3) and it was definitely worth it!
3? hours with watercolours and ink. I feel that my time estimates have been way below the actual time for ages now."
