I saw your games in my friend's blog. They were so amazing.Could you kindly to tell me.If I also want write a little game like this. What kind of software should I choose?
Answer: Depends on if you're willing to feel some pain or not. Of course it'd be best to start learning some proper languages like C or java or Actionscript for starters, but that'll sure take a long time to learn. If you're not willing to start studying hard to be able to make your games, there're currently 3 programs that I'd recommend you to try:
Multimedia Fusion 2 (this I use)
Game Maker
Construct
Multimedia Fusion 2 is the worst of the three, but that doesn't mean that it'd be actually bad; I've been quite happy with it.

Hi, just wanted to say I love your games! FallOver is the cutest thing I've ever seen. FIG is unfortunately too hard for me, but I keep playing it every now and again for the mood it has and the worlds. I thought I wouldn't like Excavatorr (based on the screenshots), but it turned out to be just great, and addictive like hell. Thanks for your work and keep it up :)

(oh, and I love the small game, SIGNS>READ - such fun! And the music underscores the game's attitude so beautifully :)
Answer: Thanks for dropping by! Great to hear that you enjoyed the games; hopefully you'll enjoy the later ones too. ;)
vazor on Monday, 5th of October 2009 - 23:07:08 GMT-07:00
Excellent little game, I really enjoyed FallOver and the statement it makes about realism. I think the comedic touch was a big part of why I liked it too- "Jolly Good!" Hahaha!
Answer: Thank you! Yeah, I guess the voice acting had an important role after all.
vinnyman on Sunday, 27th of September 2009 - 16:44:21 GMT-07:00
I really like your FallOver! game, and am a competent programmer myself as well. It'd be an honour to partner with you and port this game over to XBLA (Indie games). Hopefully you have such a desire. I have to warn you however--it would have to be over several months as I am a father of two, and as you can guess: with not a lot of time on my hands ;0) There's a lot to consider even before writing the first line of code, wishing we can start exchanging ideas with this particular goal in mind. Vince from Canada.
Answer: I'll email you to answer this. ;)
Keitaro145 on Monday, 21st of September 2009 - 12:34:02 GMT-07:00
FallOver! was a really interesting game. I found it really difficult to change the standard practices I use in platformer-type games to keep the old guy from falling over. Those pebbles really trip you up the first time you see them. Great job. :D
Answer: Thanks. Sounds like my aim of giving a different experience was succesfull.

Hey Hempuli, I loved FallOver. One of the nicest games I've played.

And in response to krunkster's low score challenge: I managed to get 10/103. Here's a screenshot: http://www.sendspace.com/file/9qze9d
Answer: Cool job! And also nice to hear that you enjoyed the game. :)

Hi!

I really like your games, but damn, what's the matter with the dotty-broken-lines-graphics with your new title Bulletsss? Maybe it's just me, but they really give me a headache. :/

Too bad, since the style looks otherwise nice. Honestly, at first I thought it was some sort of a rescaling-bug or something! Looks just the same in your screenshots, though.
Answer: Haha, yeah, the graphical style isn't everyone's cup of tea, I see. I by myself like the organic look of the walls when they're animated and wobble like that. Granted, it makes the screenshots look rubbish. Sad to hear that you didn't enjoy them though. :/

Fall Over: low score challenge

Just for fun I wanted to see how many coins I could avoid.
I was able to get a score of 13 beating all the levels.
Any can beat that shoot me an email!
I'm sure there's a better way to avoid them on some of the levels.

Answer: Very cool idea! Though I'm not sure if you'll get anyone else to try that, sadly.

Hey :)
I have played "FallOver" today and it is absolutely great. I'm not a big fan of platformers myself but it was something new and fresh. And I've really enjoyed it :)

So now the question is. Where is the donation button for people who like your games, ha?
Answer: Heh, there isn't one yet. But hmm, maybe I should get one someday... Thanks for commenting and cool that you enjoyed the game! :>

Could you put some of your Poppenkast games on your site? I found Signs>Read particularly good.
Answer: Nice that you liked them! I've lately thought of rearraying the site; I could put those games in when I do that! Thanks for suggesting.

Hey there! I've, so far, played only one game — FIG. It's beautiful! Not only does it look good, it's also an intelligent game with some kick-ass music! Thanks for creating it. It's definitely one of the best freeware games on the Internet.
Answer: wow, thank you!

Oisko millään mahdollista, et voisit tehdä jonkun pelin Macille?

Hello Arvi, I just wanted to say Thank You for making Floating Islands Game. I've enjoyed it so much I thought it deserved a place on my list of Favorite Freeware Games.

http://fessicsfavorites.wordpress.com/category/freeware-games/

The whole thing is set up like a blog, with featured games having to meet pretty strict criteria. Being an avid gamer I always enjoy coming across something new or an undiscovered classic. Yours was one of them. Thanks again.
Answer: Hey, thanks a lot! You wrote very kindly about my game. :)

Flicker was cool, but level 10 can be completed in one move (instead of the par which I think was 3) with a single, long, flat piece. Use precice jumps to climb the ladder of blocks either side. Awesome game.
Answer: Thanks. I've now fixed the pars. :)

Hej there. Great games particulary the floating islands game. Keep it up and it would be great to see you in the new nifflas Forum, you know =)

Answer: Thanks. :) Glad to hear that FIG wasn't a total failure.

I don't know if I have anything to say at the forums, so I don't really have a reason to rejoin currently. I visited the forum very seldom even before the crash.

Hey, your games are very neat. Truly amazing... Please keep up the cool work. I will visit this site regularly to see your progress, i guess. Your stuff has me interested. I just wish your forum was more active :(. Anyway, I had fun with your stuff. Thanks for that.
Answer: Haha, the forum shouldn't probably even exist anymore. It was quite a failure ;)

Thank you for the interest, though I fear I'm not a very active updater.

if i can join i need sometime for my university selection exams.i m interested a lot in programming and games and playing games.i m also looking for new concepts which are funny and i found JoM very funny.Reversing time is not a new idea i know but you used it very good. And you made a very cool side scrooling platform game.Congratulations.

Currently I work alone, and I think I'll keep it that way at least for now. I'm sorry, but I'm by myself not a very good when it is about working in a team.

Hi. Once in space is amazing. I played in version 2.0. Completed all 15 levels in Easy and Hard. But the progress is 58 %. Are there anything else?
Waiting for answer.
Thank you.
Answer: There're some very silly secret levels in the game; you can access them from the very first level. I must warn you though: They relate to invisible walls and such annoyances.

You could have put your email to this comment; I could have sent you a message that I've answered your question. I hope you see this.
Karel on Monday, 26th of January 2009 - 15:04:20 GMT-07:00
I have been wondering about Once In Space. I keep playing it over and over and I would love to see some new levels. Is there any possibility for a user to create them, pls? I think a full editor is too much to ask for, but perhaps there is some other way? Maybe a txt file (with game levels data) that one would have to edit by hand and that would be loaded into the game?
Or something like that? Maybe the ability to load at least one user level from a txt file? I could probably create some semi-automatic editor for game levels in MS Excel if the txt file were to be used for inputting the level data. Or maybe it is a way too crazy idea :-) I dunno. I would love to see it happen though :-)

Best regards,

Karel
Answer: A level editor is a great idea, and it wouldn't be too hard to be created either. I've been thinking of making a new version of the game, without all those bugs and glitches in the game engine. Currently I have some other games to work on, but when I have the time, I'll surely create a new version! Thanks for the suggestion. :)
Karel on Monday, 15th of December 2008 - 13:06:04 GMT-07:00
I love FIG. What a splendid example of a creative output at its best!
I am stuck on three or four levels. Is there a walkthrough somewhere, please?

Best!

I fear that there isn't any walkthroughs available, but I suggest that you check http://jayisgames.com/archives/2008/08/floating_islands_game.php . There can be quite many hints.

I couldn't find any worms and/or trojans from the P+P game files. However, to ensure that there's nothing wrong in them, I reuploaded both files. I hope the warning comes no more.

Hi. Great games!

However, Avast informed me that your second game, P+P, contained a trojan/worm. Are you able to check?

Thanks

I've got 99% on FIG; it is a fantastic package, and well tested--thank you for an afternoon of enjoyment!
I felt that the two side-by-side boxes in Level 35 were slightly too close together; having them be mere pixels further apart would improve the experience significantly.

On that note, I'm stuck at 99%. What am I missing?? :)
Answer: Thank you for the comment! Nice that you enjoy the game!

For the last percent - the last level has a blue star too, in fact!
